Ataman Kınış

Ataman Kinis is a music composer and a researcher from Cyprus. From a young age, he was exposed to a wide range of musical traditions, which led him to develop his own musical voice during his studies. His musical language demonstrates influences from Cypriot and Turkish folk music, including experimentations of traditional techniques in a contemporary musical manner. In 2021, his short film score was awarded the grand prize at the Montreal International Film Scoring Competition. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in music composition at the University of Surrey.
