Biography

Costas Mavrides is coming from Kerynia district in the now occupied part of Cyprus. Since 2014, he is a Member of the European Parliament, in the S&D Group, elected with the Democratic Party of Cyprus.
He is Chairman of the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. He is participating in the Committees on Economic and Monetary Affairs, International Trade, Security and Defence as well as in the Delegations on EU-Turkey
relations and EU-Israel relations.
He has been appointed its group negotiator for the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the biggest european financial instrument so far. He was also selected to participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe as member of the European Parliament Delegation and he is a member of the "EU in the World" Working Group.
