George Partasides is an Industrial Extension Officer A’ in the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry and holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering. He is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. Program in Energy, Environment & Atmospheric Sciences. He was the coordinator of the RES sector in the Energy Service and coordinated efforts of NECP of Cyprus. He works in Permanent Secretary Office for Energy and other fields (Natural Gas exploitation Industry, Trade, Digitalization, etc). He deals with policymaking on promoting RES, Energy Storage, Energy Security, Diversifying Energy Resources, and software tools to calculate the requested natural gas needs. He was the coordinator of the first National Energy and Climate Plan of Cyprus for 2030 among different departments (EAC, TSOC, DSO, and other governmental departments). He is Cyprus’s contact point, and representative in the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and has participated in several Research Activities since 2008 in Renewable Energy and Digitalization of Energy Grids.
